on monday we had ezra's friend evan over. we collected these flowers from the hotel grounds to create these whimsical flower crowns i saw on artfulparent. hand in hand the two boys ran around the pathways saying, "i got one! i got one!" later when it was time to put the flowers along the crown, i couldn't get either interested in doing it. instead they spotted the watercolors on the counter and decided to paint. evan used three brushes and many colors, whereas ezra concentrated on using the color blue to paint the ocean around the sailboat he asked me to paint. i love the looks on their faces.
grapes and bananas were our snack and here you see their finished work.
its lovely. it is so good when you have an open mind and just see where the day takes you. i love unscheduled days full of nothing but the summer sun..
