yarn along



i'm joining ginny in her yarn along once again.  it's been awhile since i've played along, but my needles still are busy knitting away everyday.  there has been a little granny square crocheting going on as well to make granny square slippers for myself, but lately i've mostly been working on a monkey for a new friend's baby - a little island baby due this august, and have all the pieces of stella's rose cardigan ready to be sewn together for completion.  i haven't been reading much in the way of a good novel.  without a car, library membership or any money to buy a book, i'm reading blogs and picking up "playful parenting" whenever i feel like reading a bit of good parenting advice.  the bottom line is to play with your kids.  the more you enter their world the more they'll cooperatively enter yours.

    oh so cute! i bookmarked those purl slippers too! i love the colors you chose. and the monkey is adorable too, you are so good at making toys. the cardigan is going to be well appreciated, it's really lovely. i love all your busyness. :)

    book looks good. those crochet shoes look AWESOME. ive seen em on purlbee. ive got serious crochet on the brain. . . that rose cardy is stunning anushka!are those round little buttons??

    thanks everyone. the slippers are pretty fun to wear too. they were my first granny square project and i am quite pleased with them. the little round buttons are roses and the top one will have a loop fastening around it when i finally sew it all up!

    Love the slippers and I can't wait to see the monkey when it is all done. I really enjoy knitting stuffies. I like the sound of that book. It took me awhile after having children to realize that some people don't just naturally feel the need to play with our children. i look at it as an excuse to be 5 years old again.

    those slippers are so fun! i've yet to do a granny square! hmm. also i've checked that book out frequently, but not really read it! thanks for the reminder.
