valentines

for the last week i have been making these little felt valentine heart creations i saw on living crafts blog.  they were easy and fun to make and were a welcome change to my usual knitting.  when i finished ezra's, i decided to make some more for him to give to some of his friends on the island. 

each one comes with it's own little valentine gnome that he picked out the colors for.  i was very good about hiding his when it was done, but then as i lay there talking to him as he was leaving dreamland for wakeland i told him i finished your valentine's day present this morning.  of course he was excited and asked to see it "right now."

so ezra's been in the valentine's spirit for a few days already watching me put the finishing touches on the other hearts i made.  he gave bianca her's yesterday and said, "happy valentine's day!"

 i hung up a string of hearts to which i hot glued the message "i love you" out of felt letters where we usually hang ezra's paintings.  i crocheted the hearts using the pattern from a foothill home companion.  they were also fun and easy to make and once i memorized the pattern i could have made a hundred more.

 today we are going to make valentine's day sugar cookies and some valentine's day cards.  we will also be calling chicken, ezra's auntie whose name is kristen, to wish her a happy birthday!  we love you chicken!
